 West Bengal State University is situated in Berunanpukuria of the city of Kolkata, West Bengal. Formed by an act of the legislative assembly this university affiliates close to 60 colleges (graduate, post graduate and B.Ed) in the district of North 24 Parganas, which were formerly affiliated with the University of Calcutta. This university offers post graduate programmes in as diverse field of study from agricultural science & technology to zoology. The university's library housed in the main building is complete with internet facility.The campus is now being constructed at Berunanpukuria and the university operates from there.
