York University Graduate Admission:

Following is the steps to apply for York University Graduate Admission

Preparing your application to graduate studies at York University and/or other interested universities requires research and planning. Some students start preparing their plan for graduate studies as early as two years before they submit their application.

If you wish to APPLY NOW, follow this process outlined by the university:

STEP #01: Review all admission and application requirements for your chosen program of study before beginning the process. (Application deadlines vary by program).

STEP #02: Follow the Application Checklist. (Admissions process/ Entry Requirements) If possible Visit the campus.
STEP #03 Complete the online graduate admission application and follow the instructions.

Notes:-

The application will time out after 30 minutes. Ensure you have all necessary documentation at hand when you begin the application.
Use your full legal name (found on your birth certificate or passport) on all application forms and, if applicable, include any hyphens.
Provide all previous names used as a York student to ensure we have one comprehensive student file for your documents.

STEP #04: Pay the $100 application fee by Visa or MasterCard. If you do not wish to submit your credit card online, or if you do not have a Visa or MasterCard, please contact the Office of Admissions at 416-736-5000. The Office will process your application when the fee payment is received in full. Application is non-refundable. Note: The application fee for Osgoode Professional Development is $100 CDN.

STEP #05: Submit all required documentation by the program deadline. Refer to the specific program details page for requirements and deadlines. All documentation submitted becomes the property of York University and cannot be returned.

York University Infrastructure


York University Infrastructure:-

York University Toronto has two main campuses located in the heart of Greater Toronto area ie Keele Campus and Glendon Campus.

Keele Campus: Keele Campus is the primary campus of  York University, Toronto. Spread over 457 acres of land, most of the University's faculties reside here, including Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, Business, Law, Environmental Studies, Science and Engineering, Education, and Health. All together, nearly 50,000 students attend classes on the Keele campus.

Glendon Campus: Glendon College is a bilingual (English/French)  liberal arts faculty and separate campus of York University located in the downtown Toronto neighbourhood of Lawrence Park. Glendon is unique amongst York faculties as it possesses autonomy over both its recruitment and admission. The College hosts its own academic programs and facilities. Student services on Campus are provided in both French and English and all Glendon students are required to take courses in both French and English to graduate.

In June 2014, York announced that Markham, Ontario will become a satellite site for York Region.

Libraries: The four branches of York University Libraries are host to more than three million visitors annually. These libraries are home to a collection of  600,000 e-books, 72,000 full-text e-journals and 2.6 million printed volumes. In addition to this, students have access to more than 3600 places for quite and collaborative study and research.

Student Residences: Residence Life at York University is part of the Centre for Student Community and Leadership Development (SCLD), that manages the eight residence buildings on the Keele campus. These Residences are divided into two complexes on either side of campus:

Complex 1:- Winters Residence, Tatham Hall Residence, Vanier Residence, and Founders Residence.

Complex 2:- Bethune Residence, Calumet Residence, Stong Residence, and Pond Residence (the newest residence, and sometimes referred to as Complex 3 grouped with the York Apartments).

The Village at York University off-campus student housing area has become a popular area of accommodation for many upper-year and post-graduate students, and the area has had a large amount of attention particularly for large parties hosted by students, including the annual Battle of the Village kegger held in March. However safety has been a pressing issue of this off-campus residence.

York University Faculty consists of almost 7000 members enaged in 11 faculties of study. The university faculty consists of academicians, subject scholars and researchers.

York University Student Life and Activities:-

York University Student Life and Activities is centered over 300 student clubs and organizations that cater to the intellectual, cultural and social need of students. Sports and Recreation at the university consists of diverse planing, intramurals, a fitness center, sports clubs, instructional classes and more. In 2013, the York University Lions men’s soccer team won the Ontario University Athletics championship.
