The Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University is the State University of Uttarakhand which is located at Badshahithaul in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. The university has been established by State Government, under notification No 270/XXXVI(3)/2012/48(1)/2012 dated 19 October 2012. The university is named after a Sri Dev Suman who was a freedom fighter from Tehri District of Uttarakhand. This university is affiliated with the University Grant Commission (UGC).
The Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University is focusing on providing the needs and requirements of the downtrodden strata and rural youth of Tehri district of Uttarakhand. This is a multidisciplinary, affiliating university offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide range of disciplines. The university aims to provide instructional and research amenities for integrated courses in social sciences, science, and technology. The university establishes the linkages with industries and research organizations for the endorsement of science and Technology in the state.
