The Global Open University Nagaland nicknamed TGOU is an open university providing vocational, job oriented academic courses through distance mode. The state university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Global Open University Nagaland offers undergraduate and post graduate courses of study in faculties of management, health sciences, ecology, law, psychology, education, journalism & mass communication, computers and information technology, library & information sciences, applied science, social science, travel and tourism. This university also offers online short-term certificate courses apart from courses through distance mode. These certificate courses are conducted completely online with online registration, online study material and online system of examinations. The university also offers courses on laproscopic surgery conducted at the World Laproscopic hospital . TGOU awards distance education degrees but these are not totally online and only have the facility of online registration.
