National Institute of Technology NIT Kurukshetra is an "institute of national importance". Established and wholly funded by the Indian government this institute comprises of 11 departments and 04 schools of excellence. NIT Kurukshetra awards undergraduate B.Tech program and post graduate M.Tech program in various disciplines of study. Ph.D. programs are offered in engineering, sciences, humanities, social sciences as well as computer applications. The institute also offers an MBA degree. Admission to B.Tech and M.Tech program is based on JEE main and GATE score respectively while NIMCET test score is used for admission to MCA course. The institute is known for its industry-institute collaborations, student activities and central facilities.
