Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) is a veterinary university established with the aim of promoting lifestock production, health and prevention of disease through integrated research, teaching and extension programs.GADVASU has a well equipped veterinary teaching hospital that caters to the treatment of animals and provides clinical training to students. In addition to this the university also has dairy and poultry farms which provide adequate facilities for teaching and research. Another distinctive feature of this university is its Post-Graduate Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (PGIVER)  established to give impetus to specialized and need based research and training to graduates in different disciplines.
