University of Petroleum and Energy Studies UPES is a private research university in  Dehradun, Uttarakhand and is known traditionally for its education and research in fields of energy & power. The university provides domain specialized programs in oil and gas, transportation, power, computer science, information technology, international business, logistics and supply chain, infrastructure. This is the only university in the country to provide UG, PG and PhD programs in core faculties of petroleum and energy. Admission to the courses offered by UPES is based on national level test like JEE (Main), CAT and MAT exam. UPES conducts UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (UL-SAT) entrance test for admission to BA. LLB. (honours) course. The training and placement cell of UPES provides training and placement assistance to students. Training activities of the cell include  industry visits & exclusive personality enhancement, training capsules to improve employability skills. This university has been successful in mantaining an impeccable 85 percent record in terms of placement.
