Central University of Rajasthan is a new central university funded by the Government of India. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) this residential university modelled on the lines of Jawaharlal Nehru University offers post-graduate and doctoral academic programmes of study. There are twenty academic programmes with one each constituting one academic department. The university has students from both India and abroad. Admission into Central University of Rajasthan is highly competitive and is based on Central Universities Combined Entrance Test (CUCET). The central library of CUJ has a range of knowledge resources for aspirants. Besides academics a range of societies and clubs exists for students and students are also encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities.
