Uttar Pradesh Technical University is a public university dedicated to study and research in faculties of engineering and allied sciences. Recognized by the UGC and AICTE, UPTU is the biggest technical university in South Asia with more than 800 colleges of study under its fold. Because of its sheer size and the number of colleges affiliated to it and geographic dispersion, it is sub-divided into five zones with 45-50 colleges in each zone for the ease of management and facilitating inter-zonal comparison and possible internal competition to enhance quality of teaching-learning processes. This university offers undergraduate and post graduate courses of study in faculties of engineering, architecture, hotel management and catering technology, fashion and apparel design, and pharmacy, leading to degrees of B.Tech, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD, and B.Pharma respectively. This university also offers post graduate courses of study in faculties of computer application and management leading to MCA, MBA and MBA (Rural Management). UPTU also offers research programs in emerging areas and applications in technical streams of study. Apart from academic UPTU lays very strong emphasis on overall development of students throuhgh its various student support services and progression.
