National Institute of Technology NIT Rourkela is public institute for higher learning in faculties of engineering and technology. Formerly known as Regional Engineering College (REC) Rourkela this institute is an "institution of national importance." This institute comprises of 18 academic departments, 09 centers of research and 06 academic support centers and various technical service units.
