Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism known in hindi as Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Avam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya is a UGC recognized public university in India. Named after Makhanlal Chaturvedi, freedom fighter, journalist and poet is dedicated to study and research in faculties of journalism and mass communication. Approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and a member of the AIU and ASU this university offers bachelors, masters and Ph.D. degree programs in faculties of electronic media, computer science & applications, journalism, management, mass communication, new media studies, public relation & advertising studies, publications and research. Apart from this MCNUJ also offers short term training programs and a program on text book writing along with various add-on courses. Mass media involves classroom training and relevant practical experience and as such this university provides facilities of library & documentation center, audio & video production lab, computer and printing lab. Known for its effective teaching methods the medium of instruction for courses is english and hindi. Unlike other universities in India have a limited territorial jurisdiction, this university has a nationwide jurisdiction.
