Karnataka State Women's University Bijapur also known as KSWUB is the first and only women's university in the state of Karnataka. Recognized under 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC act, this university presently affiliates seventy women's colleges spread over 12 districts in the northern region of the state. Keeping in view the educational and specialization based needs of the region, KSWUB offers undergraduate and post graduate programmes of study in faculties of arts, business administration, computer applications, commerce, education, fashion technology, home science, physical education, science and social work. Bijapur Women's University is also recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC) for distance education across India and abroad. A beacon of higher education, the university has already been able to make its presence felt in the region through its academic acheivements, research, creativity and innovation.
