Central University of Karnataka is one among the 16 new central universities established by the Government of India during the UGC's XI plan period.Since its start in 2009 the university has strived to offer change in terms of content and quality of teaching. Courses offered by the university are inter and multi-disciplinary in content and are provided under school of study system. All programmes offered by CUK follow semester scheme of study and are offered on choice based system. Students are offered the academic freedom to select between allied and elective subjects apart from courses. Relevant and updated syllabus of various academic programmes also aim to develop students in a holistic manner. Admission to various academic courses of study is based on score in CUCET exam.
