• United States Air Force Academy Colorado is a US Service Academy committed to the training of cadets for the Air Force.
• Incoming cadets are required to attend a five week training program that prepares them for military life.
• Academics at the Center is based on core curriculum that every cadet must complete.
• Cadets at USAFA have the option of selecting a specialized field of study from among the 30 possible majors.

United States Air Force Academy Colorado Faculty  both past and present has always been evenly divided between civilian professors and military instructors. The civilian professors nearly all have a PhD and can be awarded tenure, usually upon promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor. Fewer of the military instructors have a PhD but nearly all have a Master's degree.

In order to be eligible for United States Airforce Academy Colorado Admission you are required to be an

Citizen of the United States (unless nominated by an official of a country invited by the Department of Defense)
Unmarried with no dependents.
an indvidual of good moral character.
Be at least 17, but less than 23 years of age by 1 July of the year of entry.
an individual who is able to meet the high leadership, academic, physical and medical standards.

In addition to the normal process of application you must also secure an admission to the academy normally from a US Senator or US Representative. Each member of Congress and the Vice President can have five appointees attending the Air Force Academy at any time.

The process for obtaining a congressional nomination is not political and candidates do not have to know their senator or representative to secure a nomination.

Additional nomination slots are available for children of career military personnel, children of disabled veterans or veterans who were killed in action, or children of Medal of Honor recipients.

United States Air Force Academy Colorado Infrastructure:-

United States Air Force Academy Colorado Infrastructure covers 18, 500 acres of land and is situated just north of Colorado springs. The most iconic symbol of the University campus is the United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, which has seperate chapels for protestants, catholics, jewish worshippers and an All-Faith Room. The buildings in the Cadet Area were designed in a distinct, modernist style, and make extensive use of aluminum on building exteriors, suggesting the outer skin of aircraft or spacecraft. The cadet area at the academy is designated as a National Historic Landmark.

The other main buildings in Cadet campus include Aeronautics Research Center, the Consolidated Education and Training facility (CETF), Observatory and Planetorium and Arnold Hall. The Cadet Area also contains extensive facilities for use by cadets participating in intercollegiate athletics, intramural athletics, physical education classes and other physical training. The other distinctive features of the campus include Air Academy High School and various commemorative plagues.

United States Air Force Academy Colorado Student Life and Activities:-

Cadets adhere to a strict daily schedule that does not allow for much free time, though there are a number of extracurricular clubs and activities. Cadets are required to participate in athletics—either intercollegiate or intramural—and must pass a fitness test every semester. The Fighting Falcons, Air Force’s athletic teams, compete in NCAA’s Division I and are known for their traditional rivalries with fellow service academies Army and Navy.

USAFA  offers a number of student services including nonremedial tutoring, women's center, health service, and health insurance. United States Air Force Academy also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, and controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc).

Air Force, like the other service academies, is governed by an honor code that states: "We will not lie, steal, or cheat, nor tolerate among us anyone who does."

The academy is also known for its long standing student traditions that include Prop and Wings, Cadet Sabres and the tradition of giving classrings.
