University of Toronto Undergraduate Admission

The University of Toronto welcomes applicants from all over Toronto and the world. Following is your guide to University of Toronto Undergraduate Admission.

Before you get started, here are a few important points to keep in mind:

Correspondence will be sent to you by post or by email
The name on your paper and electronic documents should match the name on your OUAC application Include your U of T applicant number, and OUAC Reference Number on all paper documents Send all documents to Enrolment Services unless instructed otherwise
Use JOIN U of T  to review the status of your application

Admission Procedure for Current Ontario High School Applicants

a) Join U and T website: Approximately one week after submitting your application online, you will receive an email with instructions for accessing the Join U of T admissions website.
b) To enable your JOINid / UTORid, you will need your JOINid / UTORid and your U of T Applicant Number which you will find in your email acknowledgement. In addition you will need to provide your date of birth and your ten-digit OUAC Reference Number
c) How & When Decisions are Made: Conditional offers of admission based on Grade 11 and interim and final Grade 12U/M marks will be made between late February and late May.  Rotman Commerce applicants please note that most decisions for this program will be made in May.

Admission Procedure for All other applicants

Important Note for International Students: As it can take approximately one to three months to obtain a study permit and entry visa, you are encouraged to submit all supporting documents well in advance of posted deadlines.

a) Join U of T admissions website: Approximately one week after submitting your application online, you will receive an email with instructions for accessing the Join U of T admissions website.
b) To enable your JOINid / UTORid, you will need your JOINid / UTORid and your U of T Applicant Number which you will find in your email acknowledgement. In addition you will need to provide your date of birth and your ten-digit OUAC Reference Number.
c) Application Choices: You may list up to three University of Toronto program choices on the application.
d) How is your application is accepted: Your application will be considered on the basis of your academic record and any additional information requested by the division to which you have applied. Your eligibility for admission will be determined when all required documents have been received.
e) When are decision released: Decisions for arts, science and commerce/management programs are made on an ongoing basis.

Application Procedure for Non-degree applicants:

University of Toronto Academic Year:

The academic year begins in September, with classes typically commencing the first Monday following Labour Day, and ending in August of the following year. On the St. George and UTM campuses the year is subdivided into terms:

Fall Term – September to December
Spring Term – January to April
Summer Terms (2) – May to June; and July to August

Several exam periods are held throughout the academic year:

Fall Term – mid-December
Spring Term – late April to early May
Summer Terms – early June and mid-August

At UTSC the academic year is trimestered with the three terms divided as follows:

University of Toronto Infrastructure

University of Toronto Infrastructure:-

The University of Toronto infrastruture is centered around its three campuses. Situated in Toronto and Greater area, the university offers students, staff and faculty a great opportunity to learn and to work. The University of Toronto is situated in one of the world's most vibrant urban environments.

CAMPUS 01: Downtown Toronto (St. George)

This campus is known for its scenic beauty that is surrounded by historic architecture. Set in the center of Toronto, St. George is known for its vibrant academic life and countless extracurricular activities. The main colleges in the vicinity include Innis College, New College, St.Michael's College, Trinity College, University College, Victoria University and Woodsworth College.

CAMPUS 02: Mississauga (in the west)

Mississauga (in the west) is the second largest division of the University of Toronto. This campus features 15 academic departments, an Institute of Communication, Culture and Information Technology, 148 programs and 89 areas of study, UTM offers undergraduate and interdisciplinary graduate studies programs. This campus also boasts of a vibrant research environment. Situated on 225 acres of protected green belt Mississauga is 33 kilometers away from Downtown Toronto (St. George).

CAMPUS 03: Scarborough (in the east)

Libraries: The University of Toronto's Libraries are the third-largest library systems in North America. The collection at the library includes 10 million bound volumes, 5.4 million microfilms, 70,000 serial titles and 1 million maps, films, graphics and sound recordings. The library system of U of T is known for its extensive humanities and social sciences collection. Housed within University College, the University of Toronto Art Centre contains three major art collections. The University of Toronto's collection also features canadian contemproary art.

Student Residences: Colleges under the University of Toronto operate their own residences and dining halls.

a) Innis, New, St. Michael's, Trinity, University, Victoria, and Woodsworth colleges reserve most of their dormitories for their undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts and Science, while setting a portion available to students from the professional and postgraduate faculties.
b) Massey College is exclusive for graduate students.
c) Knox and Wycliffe Colleges house graduate theology students.
d) Annesley Hall of Victoria College was the first university residence for women in Canada.
e) After St.Hilda became a co-educational college in 2005, Annesley Hall and Loretto College of St. Michael's College are the last remaining women's halls at the university.

Campus residences accommodate just 6,400 students in all. The University of Toronto guarantees housing only for undergraduates in their first year of study, while most upper-year and graduate students reside off-campus.
