Jai Narain Vyas University formerly known as University of Jodhpur is a UGC recognized state university. Accredited with a NAAC "B" grade this is the only residential university in the state catering to the needs of students of the western region of the state. JNVU offers courses in faculties of arts &humanities, social sciences, law, engineering, commerce, business management, information technology and foreign languages. The university offers under-graduate, post-graduate and Ph.D. courses of study in almost all faculties. Since this university is situated in the great indian Thar desert the R&D activities of the university are based on heritage, society and challenges of the region. Apart from the basic objective of education and research this university has also made considerable efforts to offer equal opportunities to the weaker sections of the region through resources, man-power and infrastructure.
