Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) is a public university established for the dissemination of  higher education in engineering & technology, science and humanities. One of the eight new IIT colleges to be established in India IITH functions  from Ordnance Factory Medak estate in Yeddumailaram while its permanent campus is under construction in Kandi. This university has 10 engineering departments, 03 science departments and one liberal arts (humanities) department. IITH offers undergraduate B.Tech degree in seven engineering disciplines, M.Tech degree in eight engineering disciplines and post graduate and research degrees in all disciplines of study (ie engineering, science and liberal arts). The science and engineering departments of the Institute are engaged in teaching, research and industrial consultancy. Admission to undergraduate programs of study is done through JEE while GATE and NET qualification is used for admission to M.Tech course. Among the new clan of IITs in India, IIT Hyderabad has made rapid progress in field of research. The training and placement cell of this university provides candidates with placement training and assistance.
