Swarthmore College Pennsylvania campus is spread over 425 acres and comprises of Scott Arboretum, featuring rolling lawns, a creek, wooded hills, and hiking trails. The Parrish Hall, which houses numerous administrative offices and student lounges, as well as two floors of student housing. The Friends Historical Library collects, preserves, and makes available archival, manuscript, printed, and visual records concerning the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) from their origins mid-seventeenth century to the present.An internationally important archive of papers and books concerning the work of pacifist organizations and individuals, the Peace Collection forms part of the Swarthmore College Library.

93 percent of students at the university live in 17 residence halls on campus. The university is known for its various fraternities and sorerities. The university has 22 varsity teams. Varsity teams include badminton, baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball.Swarthmore has two main student news publications.
One, a weekly newspaper called The Phoenix, is published nearly every Thursday. Swarthmore is known as a center of social and political activism. Swarthmore College Computer Society (SCCS) is a student-run organization independent of the official ITS department of the college.
