Pomona College Admission is highly selective and includes a thorough review of applications by the Admission Committee. There is no set formula for admission. The university is interested in recruiting the best students regardless of their financial pay, financial need.

For first-year application, the strength of the high school program, the record of academic aptitude and achievement, quality of thought in essays, and recommendations from the school are of great significance, as are evidence of originality, energy, motivation, and leadership potential.

Following broad range of specializations are prescribed for Pomona College undergraduate admission:

• Four or five academic subjects each term, including 10th, 11th and 12th grades.
• Four years of English.
• Three years of a foreign language.
• Four years of natural science, two of which should be lab science.
• Two years of social sciences.
• Four years of mathematics (one year of geometry, a second year of algebra, one year of trigonometry and analytical geometry, one year of calculus is highly recommended).

Students who have attended foreign high schools or those who have pursued unusual patterns of preparation should consult the admissions staff about submitting other evidence of their readiness to undertake college work.

Home-schooled students are urged, and may be required, to provide a much more substantial battery of SAT Subject Test results or Advanced Placement tests and should discuss their curriculum and application with a member of the admissions staff.

Students who have completed a considerable amount of work at the college level (more than the equivalent of six Pomona courses) should consult the Office of Admissions regarding first-year versus transfer standing).

Pomona College Infrastructure:-

Pomona College campus is located in Claremont, California spread over 140 acres of land. The infrastructure on campus consists of 63 buildings that include 16 residential halls. A stagerring 98 percent of students choose to live on campus. The South campus of the university consists of first year housing and academic buildings for social science and humanities while the north campus is a mix of both academic and residential buildings. Pomona College Infrastructure is equipped with all the need facilities and services for students and faculty.

Pomona College Student Life and Activities:-

More than 50% of Pomona students study abroad. There are 50 Pomona study abroad programs in 31 countries. 98 percent of students live on campus in 16 residential halls. These residential halls consists of 3 dining halls at Pomona; 9 dining halls at other Claremont Colleges. The university also consists of 21 teams for men and women and has  5-College club sports, and 18 intramural sports. Pomona College consists of more than 220+ clubs and organizations.

From departmental gatherings to five-college dances, from a discussion over dinner to a varsity soccer game, Pomona people combine social, cultural, artistic and athletic activities with academic activities thus making Ponoma college an experience.
