Tamil Nadu Government Dental College was created in the year 1992. The college is known for generating some highly qualified medical professionals, ever since its inception. It is affiliated to Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and is recognized by the Dental Council of India.

One of the flagship courses offered by the institute is five years full time undergraduate degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The college also imparts two years course of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS).
