Founded in the year 1955, Assam Engineering College is the first undergraduate engineering college in the north-east India and today is a premier technical institute of eastern India. It is a public college run by the state of Assam. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University. The college offers bachelor's courses and master's courses in various disciplines and aims to take up relevant problems of society & industry as projects, research themes for study and to provide technological solutions.
