 Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) also refered to as NIT Nagpur and formerly known as Regional Engineering College is a engineering institute. Ranked among the best engineering colleges in India this institute is identified as an "institute of national importance." The institute has various academic departments with over 35 specialized laboratories and research centers. At present, undergraduate programs are offered in architecture and eight engineering disciplines. Admission to undergraduate engineering courses is done through JEE (Main). Graduate and research programs leading to masters and Ph.D.are offered by all engineering and architecture departments. The institute uses relative grading on a 10-point scale. Known for its student support services VNIT offers students various opportunities to pursue a range of interests.The institute also has a strong and well knit and active alumni network with chapters across the country as well as in United States and Europe.
