Mumbai University Bachelor of Arts



Eligibility:-
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three year integrated course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects :-
1. English
2. Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any classical Language or Information Technology.
3. Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each.
OR
Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with vocational subject conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects:-
1. English
2. Any one vocational subject carrying 200 marks prescribed
by the Board from time to time.
3. Any three subjects carrying 100 marks each.
OR
Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with the Minimum Competency based vocational courses conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects :-

1. English
2. Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or Classical Language or Information Technology
3. General Foundation Course.
4. Any one subject carrying 300 marks from among the Minimum Competency based vocational courses prescribed by the Higher Secondary School Certificate
examination from time to time.

OR
Must have passed an examination of another University or Body Recognized as equivalent thereto.

Admission Procedure:-

1. All the fees are to be paid by Demand Draft/ Pay Order only.
2. To avoid inconvenience and to save time, purchase the Demand Draft/ Pay Order in favour of the Institute of Distance Education, University of Mumbai from any Nationalized Bank or a Scheduled Bank near your place of residence or work as there aren?t many such banks near Vidyanagari.
3. Furnish all the information correctly and neatly on the application form.
4. Affix one passport size photograph, on the Admission form, and the another photo on the Identity Card. Fill in the other particulars on the Identity Card.
5. Submit the application duly completed and signed along with the Original Certificates and attested Copies thereof to the staff at the respective counters for verification.
6. After verifying of the Admission Form, pay fees by Pay Order/ Demand Draft along with the Accounts-cum-Receipt Form (ABCD Parts) duly filled in and submit at the Accounts counter. Write your Surname, Name, Address, Telephone Number, Class, Form No. and Date of Payment of fees on the reverse side of the DD/ Pay Order.
7. Admission will be cancelled if the DD/ Pay Order is not honoured, and the student will also be required to pay penalty and face legal action.
8. Collect ?D? part of the Accounts-Cum-Receipt Form duly signed and stamped as the RECEIPT of Fees for your record.
9. Collect the Identity Card duly stamped and signed by the I.D.E. staff.
10.Fill up the application form (given separately in your admission kit) for collecting the Study Material indicating therein the subjects offered by you. Collect the Study Material from the Ground Floor of the Institute. (Room No. 5)
11. If you are not in a position to come in person to the Institute for securing admission, you may send your application by registered post to the Professor-cum-Director, Institute of Distance Education, University of Mumbai, Dr. Shankar Dayal Bhavan; Vidyanagari Campus, Kalina, Santacruz (East), Mumbai 400 098. alongwith the Certificates and other documents as mentioned above and a Demand Draft/ Pay Order for the amount of fees for the course drawn in favor of the ?THE INSTITUTE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI? so as to reach the institute in time before the last fixed date for accepting the admission forms. Identity Card and Part ?D? of the Accounts-cum-Receipt and Study Material will be dispatched by Registered Post Parcel only to those students who reside remote places linked by local trains. (i.e. beyond Virar Western Railway & Karjat/ Kasara on Central Railway). The applications received by the post after the last date are liable to be rejected.
12.   Maintain discipline by standing in the proper queue.
13.   Right to admissions is reserved with the Professor-cum-Director
