Syllabus 2012:-
For purposes of admission to the Joint Ph.D. programme:
The candidate for whom the University of Madras/any Indian University/ Research institution is the PARENT INSTITUTION should:
-have obtained a Master’s Degree with 55% marks in the qualifying examination. [Exception: SC/ST candidates / candidates who have completed the PG degree before 1991 the minimum is 50% in the qualifying examination.
- provide proof of having a supervisor in the parent and host institutions The candidate for whom the University of Madras is the HOST institution :
-be registered for Ph D in that recognized institution [parent institution] with which UNOM has signed an MOU
-provide proof of having supervisors in the parent institution and host institution Admissions for Joint Ph.D. programme can be made throughout the year and
the application form can be downloaded from the website. When submitted the prescribed fee must be paid in the form of an enclosed demand draft. [For SC/ST
candidates the application shall be issued free of cost on production of two copies of community certificate duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with the superscription: “For SC/ST Candidates only” made on the application forms]. Registrations for JOINT Ph.D. may be done throughout the year and the form may be down loaded from the website.
