National Institute of Technology NIT Patna  formerly known as Bihar School of Engineering and Bihar College of Engineering is a public engineering institute dedicated to providing education and research facilities in faculties of science and engineering. Known as the sixth oldest engineering college in the country NITP thrives on a strong academic tradition. The first institute to be accorded as an "institute of national importance, National Institute of Technology (NIT Patna) awards B.Tech and M.Tech programs of study in various engineering disciplines. Admission to these programmes is based on JEE (main) exam and GATE test score respectively. This university provides all the necessary basic ammenites and the best facilities required for resourceful and healthy development. The training and placement cell forms an important part of NIT Patna and it organizes and co-ordinates campus placement programs inclusive of compulsory vocational training, summer internship and placement.
