Kuvempu University is a UGC recognized public university. Named after Jnanpith laureate and doyen of kannada literature this university is the youngest affiliating university in the state. This university offers 45 post graduate, 04 post graduate diploma and one undergraduate course of study in faculties of arts, commerce, science, education and law. At present, Kuvempu university affiliates 80 colleges and a post graduate center at Kadur. The syllabus of conventional and non-conventional courses of study offered the university are updated regularly. The academic life at the university is vibrant with special lectures, workshops, symposias and seminars throughout the academic year. The distance education department of KU is known for its undergraduate and post graduate courses of study offered through distance mode. The library of this university provides self directed student learning outside standard university hours.
