Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya University is a UGC recognized public university in India. A member of the Association of Indian Universities JPVU has 21 constituent colleges and 11 affiliated colleges with a soon to be established college for engineering. Named after famed freedom fighter Jay Prakash Narayan, student-wise this university is the largest university in the state of Bihar. This university offers under graduate, post graduate and diploma courses in faculties of social sciences, science, commerce and humanities. JPVU is also known for its professional and vocational courses of study offered by Directorate of Distance Education.
