The well – known university of the state i.e. the Islamic University of Science & Technology is located in Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir. The university is recognized by the University grant commission and engaged in offering various UG and PG courses. The university is set up with the mission to provide and advanced knowledge to the students regardless of caste, color, creed, and religion. All the courses offered by the Islamic University of Science & Technology are recognized by AICTE. The university not only provides the education to the younger generation but also know its role in the community development.
The Islamic University of Science & Technology had started its working in November 2005 but the teaching program had begun in the month of July 2006. The university is situated in the small but picturesque town named Awantipora. This town is located nearly 30 kilometers away from the beautiful city Srinagar. The main campus of the university is quite spectacular which has the Jhelum River on one side and beautiful Himalayan range on another side. The scenic beauty of the campus offers the calm and pleasant environment to the students. The university has a beautiful grove of almonds which is the addition to the spectacular beauty of the main campus.
