University of Virginia Virginia Infrastructure

University of Virginia Infrastructure:-

University of Virginia Virginia Infrastructure is known for its Jeffersonian architecture. Known as an architectural marvel and a popular tourist destination UVa is rated as one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States.Jefferson's original architectural design revolves around the "Academical Village", and that name remains in use today to describe both the specific area of The Lawn, a grand, terraced green space surrounded by residential and academic buildings, the gardens, The Range, and the larger University surrounding it.

Though student enrollment has grown beyond the capacity of the original lawns the University further distinguishes itself by extending the original Academical Village ideal with two exclusively First-year (freshman) living areas: The Old Dorms (Bonnycastle, Dabney, Echols, Emmet, Hancock, Humphreys, Kent, Lefevre, Metcalf, Page), located on McCormick Road, and The New Dorms (Cauthen, Courtenay, Dunglison, Fitzhugh, Kellogg, Balz-Dobie, Tuttle-Dunnington, Shannon, Watson-Webb, Woody), adjacent to Scott Stadium, both situated wholly on Grounds.

The University, together with Jefferson's home at Monticello, is a World Heritage Site, one of only three modern sites so listed in the 50 states, the others being the Statue of Liberty and Independence Hall.

The best-known library is Alderman Library for the humanities and social sciences, which contains 10 floors of stacks with many useful study nooks hidden among them.

University of Virginia Student Life and Activities:-

University of Virginia Virginia Student Life is distinctive of many unique traditions. The school also has its own distinct lingo: The campus is referred to as the "grounds," the central quad is the "lawn," and students are either a first, second, third or fourth year.Only first-year students are required to live on campus, and many upperclassmen live in off-campus apartments or fraternity and sorority houses. Greek life is prominent at UVA with a membership that includes approximately 30 percent of the student body. UVa is also known for its various secret societies that have been in existence for years namely Seven Society, Z Society, and IMP Society. The Cavaliers officially known as the Wahoos or the Hoos are the members of NCAA division I Atlantic Course Conference and compete in various athletics events organized.

The University follows a strict honor pledge
"On my honor as a student, I have neither given nor received aid on this assignment/examination."
