Application Requirements for International Applicants:

International Applicants are required to follow the same application requirements as in the case of Transfer and Freshman Applicants.

Test Requirements

All international students must meet the same testing requirements as our freshman or our transfer applicants.

BC requires the TOEFL examination for all international applicants whose primary native language is not English. If you are an international student who is attending an English-speaking secondary school, ths college still requires that you submit a TOEFL score. Minimum scores of 100 on the iBT are recommended. Boston College's Institutional TOEFL Testing Code is 3083. The Department Code is 00.

The college only waives the TOEFL requirement if you score 600 or above on the SAT Critical Reading or 27 or better on the ACT English section.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences application form offers online document submission through our web-based application form. Applicants are responsible for collecting and submitting all department requirements by the designated deadline.

Please note: Official test scores and transcripts must be submitted in hard copy or received from official academic sources (i.e. ETS for test scores, school registrars for transcripts, etc.)

Boston College Massachusetts main campus is located in Chestnut Hill and includes over 120 buildings. Boston College Massachusetts Infrastructure is a confluence of collegiate gothic, gothic revival and mordern architecture. The main campus spread over 130 acres of land houses the university's eight research libraries which contains over 2.87 million volumes  and over 700 manuscript collections, including music, photos, art and artifacts 440,000 e-books.

There are various housing buildings all over campus for students. Those located on lower campus are Walsh, Edmonds, Rubenstein, Ignacio, 90 St. Thomas More Road, 66 Commonwealth Ave, Vanderslice, Gabelli, Voute, Stayer, and 'The Mods'. Roncalli, Welch, and Williams Halls are located on middle campus on College Road. Finally, Freshman housing on Upper Campus includes Kostka, Gonzaga, Fitzpatrick, Medeiros, Cheverus, Claver, Loyola, Xavier, Fenwick, and Shaw House. Additional freshman housing is on the separated Newton Campus and includes Cushing, Duchesne (East and West), Hardey, and Keyes (North, South, and mythical West).

Boston College Massachusetts Student Life and Activities:-

There are no fraternities and sorrerities on campus , however the school has more than 200 clubs and organizations. Freshman are not required to live on-campus but a vast majority chose to do so. At this school, 85 percent of the students live in college-owned, -operated, or -affiliated housing and 15 percent of students live off campus. Boston College is part of the NCAA I athletic conference.

Boston College offers a number of student services including nonremedial tutoring, women's center, placement service, day care, health service, and health insurance. Boston College also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, student patrols, and controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc).

700 student-athletes compete on 14 varsity teams for men and 17 for women at the NCAA Division I level. Student-athlete graduation rate among Top 10 of NCAA Division I-A universities.
