The London School of Economics and Political Science Undergraduate Admission:-

Individuals wishing to apply for the London School of Economics undergraduate admission are required to fill the UCAS online application form. This form is common for national and international students applying for admission.Each application received is carefully considered on an individual basis, taking into account the full range of information presented on the UCAS form including personal statement, academic achievement (including both past and predicted grades), subject combinations and references, before a final decision is made.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the School is based upon academic merit and potential.

Age Requirements: As the School has a responsibility for safeguarding children under English Law, appropriate senior staff will be notified of an offer of admission made to anyone who will be younger than 18 years of age at the time of registration.

AS/A Levels: It is expected that applicants studying A levels offer four AS levels (taken after one year of advanced study) and then proceed to three full A levels (A2s).

Unit grades: AS unit grades already attained are used as part of our decision making process for some of our mathematics based programmes.

Key Skills: Students are not required to have  the Key Skills certificate for admission to LSE.

Retakes: Competition for places at the School is intense, so it is important that you achieve consistently high grades throughout both years of your A level (or equivalent) studies.

Foundation Courses:  LSE accepts a range of other UK and international qualifications, including the following:

Scottish Advanced Highers (normally three Advanced Highers or two, plus one A level)

The London School of Economics and Political Science LSE Infrastructure:-

The London School of Economics and Political Science London is based in Central London at Clare Market and Houghton Street in Westminster, off the Aldwych. Over the years LSE has increased its ownership of adjacent buildings creating an almost continous campus between Kingsway and Royal Courts. It now comprises approximately thirty buildings on the Aldwych campus as well as twelve halls of residence across the capital, two public houses, a nursery school, West End theatre (the Peacock), medical centre and sports grounds in Berrylands, south London. It is also noted for its numerous statues and public art, including Richard Wilson’s Square the Block.

The Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, opened in January 2014 provides new accomodation to the Students’ Union, accommodation office and careers service as well as a bar, events space, gymnasium, rooftop terrace, learning café, dance studio and media centre.

The London School of Economics and Political Science London Infrastructure would remain incomplete without the mention of British Library of Economic and Political Science. This library contains over 4 million print volumes, 60,000 online journals and 29,000 electronic books. The Digital Library contains digitised material from LSE Library collections and also born-digital material that has been collected and preserved in digital formats .

The London School of Economics and Political Science has a long list of noteable indviduals associated as faculty and alumni. Among them are 18 nobel prize winners,  50 fellowship winners of the British Academy, Pulitzer prize winners, a British prime minister, Governor of the Bank of England, heads of state, bureaucrats, subjects scholars, academicians and celebrities.

The London School of Economics and Political Science Student Life and Activities:-

LSE has its own students' union (LSESU), which is affiliated to the National Union of Students and the National Postgraduate Committee, as well as to the University of London Union. These students unions have been regarded as the most politically active in Great Britian. These unions are responsible for the undertaking of events pertaining to entertainment, student and welfare societies. At present there are about 200 societies, 40 sports clubs a Raising and Giving (RAG) branch and thriving student media organizations.

There are 12 LSE halls of residence in and around central London, of which 10 are owned and operated by LSE and one is operated by Shaftesbury Student Housing. In addition to this there are also eight intercollegiate halls  shared with constituent colleges of the University of London. The School guarantees accomodation for all first year undergraduate students regardless of their present address. The largest student residence is at bank side and since 2005 the school has opened three new residences for first year students.
