New Zealand University Entrance
If you've achieved NCEA University Entrance, or if you have a Bursary or pre-1986 University Entrance, you'll be admitted through this category.
Cambridge International Examinations
If you sat and passed the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in New Zealand, you'll be admitted through this category.
International Baccalaureate
If you've completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) at a school in New Zealand, you'll be admitted through this category.
Qualification Assessment at Entrance Level
If you have another New Zealand qualification, or the international equivalent of New Zealand University Entrance, you'll be admitted through this category.
Qualification Assessment above Entrance Level
If you've studied towards a degree elsewhere, you can be admitted on that basis. This includes transfers from other New Zealand universities.
Victoria Entrance Qualification
You can be admitted if you have a Certificate of University Preparation or Certificate in Foundation Studies from Victoria, or the Tohu Maoritanga.
Discretionary Entrance
This type of admission is for secondary school students who wish to apply to university prior to gaining a university entrance qualification.

To study for an undergraduate degree at Victoria you will need meet the admission criteria as above and apply to enrol.
You will normally need to be at least 16 years of age by the application closing date.

To apply and enrol for postgraduate study you must follow certain procedures.
PhD
If you are interested in a PhD at Victoria, contact the Faculty of Graduate Research.
There are three application rounds a year for admission as a PhD student, combined with Victoria University scholarship applications. The deadlines are 1 March, 1 July and 1 November.
Some exceptions apply so check with the Faculty of Graduate Research or with the relevant School. It is important to read all the programme information before applying online.

Apply online Master’s by thesis
If you want to apply to enrol in a research-based Master’s degree, the first step is to contact a postgraduate coordinator within the relevant school or faculty to discuss your proposed topic and supervision requirements.
The next step is to submit a formal proposal to a postgraduate committee in your school for approval. Your supervisor will assist you with this.
Talk to your School’s Postgraduate Coordinator as soon as possible.

Taught Master’s Applications for coursework-based Master’s degrees are generally due on either 10 December or 10 January, although some exceptions apply.

Apply online Honours
Honours degrees are either 480 points, requiring advanced study (eg. the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours), or separate, advanced 120-point degrees that may be taken after good performance in an undergraduate degree (eg. Bachelor of Arts with Honours). Honours degrees can lead to a Master’s degree or in some cases directly to a PhD.

Once you have met those requirements, apply via our online enrolment system. If you are applying for the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology you’ll need to apply via the School of Psychology.

Victoria University has various campuses in and around Wellington.
KELBURN CAMPUS:-
The Kelburn campus provides a wide range of student support and administration offices and the central library. This campus is also home to the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering.
PIPITEA CAMPUS:-
Pipitea Campus is located in the heart of Wellington’s legal, government and business district. The Campus includes the Law School, Rutherford House and the Railway West Wing, and sits adjacent to Wellington’s railway station and the Lambton bus interchange.
TE ARO CAMPUS:-
The Te Aro Campus, centred on the striking red building at 139 Vivian Street, is Victoria’s centre of Architecture and Design. It’s located close to cosmopolitan Cuba Street, with funky shops, cafés and street life.
KARORI CAMPUS:-
Victoria’s Faculty of Education is located on the Karori Campus. Undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education and professional development programmes, as well as some Education Studies courses are taught at Karori.
Central Library:- The library holds approximately 1.3 million printed volumes. It provide access to 70,000 print and electronic periodical titles and 200,000 e-books. It is an official Depository Library (DL-296) of the United Nations System (DEPOLIB), one of only three in the country.
