Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Batwara, Srinagar, established on 1st February 1967, is one of the most reputed schools in Srinagar. It is administered by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan-New Delhi, an autonomous body, intending to impart uninterrupted education to the children of transferable Central Government Employees including Defence Personnel all over India and abroad.

The school aims at developing in them a sense of discipline, a service spirit and fair play.
