Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is considered as one of the leading medical and research institutions in the sub continent. PGIMER is an educational institute that imparts postgraduate medical training in several disciplines and a working hospital that provides medical care to a large number of patients. The institute has its campus in Chandigarh, Punjab. The campus contains the medical college, the hospital, the student and resident hostels, the staff quarters and sporting fields. While the hospital section of the campus is typically crowded and busy, the residential part of the campus is quiet and calm, punctuated with small parks, hidden statues and sheltered spots. The campus also has a tertiary care hospital, wherein the students are trained to polish their practical skills in health care industry. The centre provides specialty services in the field of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, Neurology, Allergy and Immunology, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Genetics and metabolic diseases. The department has a super specialty of Neonatology with Neonatal Intensive Care facilities.
