National Institute of Technology (NIT) formerly known as Regional Engineering College is a public technical university located in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. The institute was founded in 1959 by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in order to cater to the country's growing need for technological manpower. Today, the institute is considered as an Institute of National Importance, which offers a wide range of Bachelors, Master and Doctoral level degrees in the field of engineering and management.

The institute offers not only B.Tech Programs in nine engineering disciplines but also B.Arch degree through its Architect program.  B.Tech is a four-year program while the B.Arch. program is five years long. The first year of B.Tech program is common across all disciplines; during which students take basic courses in engineering, mathematics and professional communication.
