Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) is among the 13 government medical schools in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. It is renowned for offering a wide range of graduate and postgraduate medical education. The college was established in the year 1959 under the aegis of the Warangal Regional Medical Education Society. It is affiliated to the NTR University of Health Sciences and accredited with the Medical Council of India (MCI).
One of the main under graduate courses, offered by the institute is MBBS. MBBS is five years full time course. The college also imparts three years full time post graduate course of Doctor of Medicine (D.M) and Master of Surgery (M.S). Being one of the leading colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the college also conducts two years diploma courses in Anesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, & Radiology.
For getting the admission to the College the students have to appear the EAMCET ( Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) which is conducted by the University.
The college has its campus in Warangal, which is about 145 km away from the capital of Andhra Pradesh i.e. Hyderabad. The campus is divided into clusters of buildings and blocks that have staff quarters, a library, hostels for ladies, for men with all amenities and a recently built Rayudu hostel for boys. The college also provides good sports facilities for football, basketball, cricket and other sports with sports equipment. It also features a central auditorium where functions and conferences are held.
