National Institute of Industrial Engineeringis a business school that was founded in the year 1963; so, one can say that it is one of the pioneer business schools in India. Since its launch, the institute is known for equipping quality skills, knowledge and right attitude to the students in order to meet the expectations of today’s corporate world. It was established by the Government of India in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The college has created an identity of  its own by not only providing exceptional education about the blooming corporate world in India but also generating some qualified professionals in the field of Management.

The courses that are offered by the institute are as follow :
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering.
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management.
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety & Environmental Management.
Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management.

National Institute of Industrial Engineering also provides Fellowship programme to those students who want explore the inexact science of management with a beyond the obvious perspective.

Admissions:

Every candidate has to qualify through GATE "2012/2011". This will be followed by Group Discussion and Interview of the short listed candidates to be held at NITIE, Mumbai. Candidates need to submit a photocopy of GATE score card / printout of GATE score from website. Selection of Industry sponsored candidates with 2 years industry experience is through personal interview only.



Facilities:

National Institute of Industrial Engineering is located in the commercial hub of India i.e. Mumbai. The classrooms are spacious and specifically designed to facilitate participative learning. They are equipped with all the necessary presentation facilities like overhead projectors and screens. The institute also allows hostel facility to the students. All rooms are well furnished single occupancy with attached bathrooms.
