The existence of Faculty of Engineering, Jadavpur University can be traced back to the year 1906 i.e. when the country was under the hold of the British’s rule. Since then, the institute has been continuously endeavoring in order to equip students with the most effective and skills that are required in the field of engineering. The institute is known for imparting excellent job oriented programs in three different streams of Arts, Engineering & Technology and Science. It has been awarded with a five star accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee. Moreover, it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Today, it has become one of the leading engineering institutes in the state of West Bengal.

The institute offers four years full time Under Graduate programmes to those students who aspire to become an engineer in new and exotic branches of engineering. The courses that are offered by the college are Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrics & Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering and Information technology.

Facilities:

Jadavpur University has two campuses; one is at Jadavpur and another at Salt Lake in Kolkata. The main campus of Jadavpur University is surrounded by the Raja S.C. Mullick Road, the Jadavpur Station Road, the Kolkata Suburban Rail, South Line and the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR India). The Jadavpur campus houses most of the departments of the three faculties of Engineering, Science and Arts.
