Jabalpur Engineering College in Jabalpur is a government engineering institute that was established in the year 1947.  It is one of the premier technical institutes in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Today, the institute has emerged into a big institution imparting quality education to those students who aspire to become engineer in their distant future. It was affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Technical University Bhopal (M.P.).  The college was declared autonomous in 1998-1999 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

It is basically known for offering excellent education in the field of engineering with under graduate and post graduate courses of B.Tech (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical). B.Tech is a four years full time course, divided into eight semesters. There are many schools that come under Kongu Engg College such as School of Building & Mechanical Sciences, School of Chemical and Food Sciences, School of Electrical Sciences, School of Communication and Computer Sciences, School of Management Studies, School of Computer Technology and Applications and School of Science and Humanities.
