Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University College of Engineering Hyderabad was established in the year 1965 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college was made as a constituent college of the University and aims to identify technological advancements and build the right level of skills at the right time contributing to the industrial and national growth. It offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in various disciplines.

Admission to Four Year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Programmes, Five Year Integrated Dual Degree Programme (IDP) leading to B.Tech.+M.Tech./MBA are based on TS EAMCET.
 
Admission to Two Year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Regular Programmes is based on GATE / TS PGECET counseling conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
 
Admission to Three Year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is based on TS ICET counseling conducted by the Convener, Admissions, TS ICET.
 
Admissions to Three-Year Part-Time Post Graduate (PTPG) leading to Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programmes are notified by the University and admissions are taken up by the Director, Admissions, JNTUH, Hyderabad.

The Training and Placement Cell of the college is headed by a Placement Officer and Placement Coordinators from each department. Placement Cell works towards recognizing the core competencies of students. The placement cell is active throughout the academic year and notifications regarding the placement activities or companies visiting the campus for placement are intimated to the students on prior basis.
