Banaras Hindi University is one of the oldest universities in India that was established in the year 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. It is the largest residential university in Asia with over 24000 students in its campus. The institute is basically known for providing a wide range of courses, related to the field of Arts, Management and Commerce.  But in the year 1968, Banaras Hindi University developed a separate department for medical studies after realizing the demand for more medical institutes across the country. Later on the institute was upgraded as Institute of Medical Sciences.

Today, Institute of Medical Sciences is considered as one of the most admired global centers for those students who want to enter into the field of medicine. Being one of the earliest management schools in India, It offers quality programs such as MBBS, Bachelor of Ayurveda and Medicine and Surgery and BDS, MDS, DM and many more. All the courses is accredited by Medical Council of India.


Admissions:

MBBS Admission :-

Passed Intermediate Science/Pre-Medical Course/12 year of 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply.

Age : Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

MD/MS :-

Candidates who have passed MBBS course recognized by the Medical Council of India and completed one year internship training are eligible to appear in the entrance examination. Those candidates who have already done or doing MD/MS course are not eligible.

MDS :-

Candidates who have passed BDS course recognized by the Dental Council of India and completed one year Internship training are eligible to appear in the entrance examination.
