The Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) is a business management institute in Bangalore, which was set up in the year 1995. The Institute has designed a wide range of Post Graduate Diploma courses that bridges the gap for the needs of qualified professionals in the Corporate Sector, Entrepreneurs, Public Sector Enterprises, Organizations in Small and Medium Enterprises, Association of Industries, Ministries & Departments of the Government.

Post Graduate Diploma in Finance
Along with all these full time courses, the institute also offers two years part time Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

Admissions:

Students with valid CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent scores and those intending to take the CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent exam in '2012/2013' may also apply.
Short-listed candidates will be called to participate in the Group Discussions and Personal Interviews at designated test centres: For details please refer to the insert captioned 'Admission Calendar’.

Final selection will be based on ‘composite parameters’ to include :
the CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent scores, consistent academic record in Class X and XII, overall personality, easy in the application form and the extra/co-curricular activities, work experience (if any) and performance in the Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.
Since the CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent score is only an input in the selection process, it is possible for a candidate with a lower CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent score to be selected for GD/PI and to be offered admission, in preference to a candidate with a higher CAT/XAT/GMAT/IIFT/MAT or equivalent score on account of better performance in other criteria.

 Admission Evaluation Criteria :

Group Discussion/Presentation :
This will be conducted if there is a minimum group of 4 students available. In this case a topic will be assigned by the concerned faculty and the students will have to discuss this topic for 20 minutes. The faculty will award points to each participating student on the basis of the content, presentation, communication, spoken English and behavior. In the case of situations wherein the number is not sufficient to conduct a GD, the faculty shall use presentation as an evaluation criterion. In this the prospective student will be assigned a topic by the faculty, the student will be given 15 minutes to compile thoughts and make notes. Subsequent to the same the student will have to speak on this topic for 5 minutes. The faculty will award points to each participating student on the basis of the content, presentation, communication, spoken English and behavior.

Statement of Purpose :
The student will have to submit an essay of less than 100 words describing the purpose of pursuing a higher degree in management in IFIM Business School. The faculty shall award marks based on the quality of content, presentation and written English.

Personal Interview :
This will be conducted by one or more faculty and shall include an external examiner. The main purpose of this interview would be to evaluate the general knowledge of the prospective student assess the purpose for pursuing higher education in Management.

Sports Participation and Extra curricular activities :
The IFIM business school awards an extensive weight age to those students who have been actively participating in sports the weightages are listed in the table below. To avail of these marks the student will have to produce original certificates/awards received during the Personal Interview and will need to submit a copy of these attested by a gazette officer whilst making the applications.



Facilities:

The Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) is located in Bangalore and has a sprawling campus with an area of 2 acres. It has Wi-Fi enabled campus and is well equipped with the modern infrastructure facilities. The institute has 24 class rooms that are fully furnished, three conference halls, a centrally air-conditioned auditorium and a huge amphitheatre. The library has a collection of over 8000 books on various topics and subjects.
