Indira Gandhi Medical College at Shimla (HPMC) was established in the year 1966 with admissions of 50 students in the first batch. Initially the college was named as Himachal Pradesh College ans was renamed to its current name in the year 1984. The college is known for generating some highly qualified professionals in the field of medicine. It is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University.
