Founded in the year 2011, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering & Technology is the second state government institute of Himachal Pradesh. Presently three disciplines has been running under the same roof i.eB.Tech, Polytechnic and I.T.I. Institute aims to build a state-of-the-art institution to impart excellent quality higher education entrenched with human values in the field of Engineering & Technology and applied sciences to aspiring students who will strive continuously to improve the quality of life, creation of wealth and economic development of the country.

Students must have Bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for reserved category) in any discipline from any recognized University. Final year students can also apply.
 
Admission will be based on the marks secured in the entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.

Institute provides latest information and guidance to the students for overall development of personality through Training & Placement Cell working effortlessly throughout the year. Campus placement activities start from the 1stweek of September and the process continues till April/May of the next year. T & P Cell is well equipped with infrastructure to conduct placement sessions, excellent boarding and lodging arrangements to the organizations visiting the Institute for Placement activities.
