Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is a self financed medical college located in Kochi, Kerala. The college is named after Mata Amritanandamayi and was inaugurated in the year 1998 by the then Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is an ISO 9001:2000 certified college and is accredited with NABH. According to a recent survey, the college has been ranked 8th among all the medical colleges in India.
One of the main under graduate courses, offered by the institute is MBBS. MBBS is five years full time course. The college also imparts other under graduate courses like Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Nursing. Being one of the recognized colleges in the state of Kerala, the college also conducts three years full time post graduate course of Master of Science in Nursing.

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is nestled on a sprawling campus of 125 acres that features modern infrastructure facilities. It has 25 modern operating theatres, 210 equipped intensive-care beds, a fully computerized and networked Hospital Information System (HIS), a fully digital radiology department, a 24/7 telemedicine service and a clinical laboratory. The central library has a good collection of books. The institute also offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls.
