Tumkur University is a UGC recognized public university. Accredited with a NAAC 'B' grade this university was carved out of the Bangalore University to accommodate the needs of the students from Tumkur district. This multi-faculty university has 12 postgraduate departments, 2 constituent colleges and 94 affiliated colleges.
