Banaras Hindu University is a well known name among universities in India. A public central university founded by Pandit Mohan Malviya BHU is Asia's largest residential university. This university offers graduate and post graduate courses of study in faculties of arts, commerce, science, management engineering and technology education, performing arts, design, law and visual arts. Research centers of the university.directly funded by DBT, DST, ICAR and ISRO, a large number of departments under the Faculties of Sciences, Engineering, Technology and Social Sciences receive funding from the DST Fund for Improvement of Science & Technology Inrastructure (FIST) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) Special Assistance Programme (SAP). The Library system of the university consisting of the central library, three institute libraries, eight faculty libraries and 25 department libraries is home to a voluminous collection of 1.3 million volumes. BHU UET is conducted for admission to UG courses while BHU PET is used for admission to PG courses. BHU also attracts a large number of foreign learners for its academic courses which is an extension of its identity globally.
