Application Requirements for International Applicants:
W& L is known for its international student population. The university waivers the $50 application for all international applicants. The following are the application requirements for international applicants at Washington and Lee.

The $60 application fee is automatically waived for international students.

Interviews are not available for international student living abroad except in UK and Mexico.The university does not offer Skype or phone interviews. An international student living in the US is requested to follow the same application instructions as that of first year students.

Washington and Lee University Virginia Infrastructure:
The row of brick buildings that form that form the colonade of the university date back to 1824 and is classified as a "National Historic Landmark." In recent years a heavy investment has been made in the developement and upkeep of Washington and Lee University Virginia infrastructure in particular the academic, residential, atheletic, research, art and extra curricular activities. The new facilities include an undergraduate library, gymnasium, art/music/theater complex, dorms, student center, student activities pavilion and tennis pavilion, as well as renovation of the journalism and commerce buildings and renovation of every fraternity house and construction of several sorority houses. The university still deserves the title of the most beautiful college campus in the state.
The university's architectural style is inspired by Greek Revival, Neo-Classical architecture.

Washington and Lee University Virginia academic year is packed with various student activities. Apart from various campus traditions followed over the years, greek letter organizations are an important part of the social scene. Washington and Lee University Virginia Student Life and Activities would be incomplete without the mention of the secret societies like Cadaver Society, the Sigma Society, and the Mongolian Minks.
Washington and Lee has 11 men's teams (baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, and wrestling) and 11 women's teams (basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, riding, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball and golf).
