How to apply for University of Bristol undergraduate admission ?

01) Applying through UCAS:-

Inidviduals are requested to apply online through UCAS for full-time courses (with the exception of the five direct entry courses). University of Bristol institution code is BRISL B78. The application fee for  entry is expected to be £23 for two to five choices of university or college or £12 for one choice.

Instructions on how to complete the application are available on the UCAS website. Alternatively, you can ask your teacher or careers adviser for advice, or contact your local British Council Office if you are an international applicant. The National Careers Service helps independent UK applicants in terms of applying through UCAS.

02)Transferring from another UK university or college

If you are a student at another UK university or college of higher education and wish to transfer to a degree course at the University of Bristol, you must apply through UCAS. Please contact the relevant admissions team informally first, to see if they will consider an application from you.

Common Application

If you are an international student who is applying primarily to universities in the United States, you can include the University of Bristol as one of your choices on the Common Application. If you intend to apply to more than one UK university, please apply through UCAS.  

03) Application for part time and direct degree courses

For part-time degree courses, please apply directly to the University and not to UCAS. For information and an application form, please contact the appropriate Faculty Office. Contact details can be found in individual course entries.

Application deadlines for University of Bristol undergraduate admission:

• UK and EU students can apply through UCAS from September 01 to January 15 and through common application form from August 01 to January 15.
• International students from outside UK and EU can apply through UCAS upto June 30 however they are requested to apply before the January 15 deadline as far as possible to avoid disappointment.
• For Dentistry, Medicine and Veterinary Science the closing date for home and international applicants is October 15.
• No more than four choices from the available five can be used for Dentistry Medicine and Veterinary Science; if you give more than four choices for these courses, UCAS will not process your application.

How to apply for University of Bristol Postgraduate Admission:

Aspirants can apply online for University of Bristol Postgraduate admission with the only exception of PGCE in Secondary course.

Deadlines for application:

•Applications are invited even from candidates who haven't graduated or are awaiting their final result and grade certificate.
•For Taught programs to commence in Autumn applications will be accepted from October till the summer. (Please check the datelist published by the university for admission).
•For Research programs applications are accepted throughout the academic year. (Please check departments and funding deadlines for research programs).
•If you have applied before and were unsuccessful, you will need to re-apply, unless in possession of a deferred entry offer.
•Many of  the taught programmes have a fixed deadline. Please check individual programme information since they hold different closing dates. Popular programmes often fill in advance, so it is advisable to apply at the earliest.

a) consulted the relevant programme from the prospectus
b) reviewed the admission statement for your choice program

If you are applying for research program you are strongly advised to consult the relevant departmental webpages and contact the department to discuss your research program

Entry Requirements:

Entry Requirements vary depending upon the programmes. Most taught programmes require an upper second class undergraduate (Bachelor's) degree or equivalent. You need to have a relevant degree in some programmes of study while others accept applicants from different (non-related) backgrounds.

University of Bristol Infrastructure


University of Bristol Infrastructure:-

Some of the University of Bristol's infrastructure dates back to to its pre-charter days when it was University College Bristol.The University has teaching facilities, libraries, student housing and other buildings spread throughout the town.

The majority of University buildings are centred around the Woodland Road area adjoining Clifton, Cotham and Redland areas of the city. Some buildings date back to the earliest days of the University, others are more recent state-of-the-art additions. There are thirteen branch libraries across the University with 1.4 million books, printed journal articles and other resources. The Libraries also give remote access to a vast range of e-resources such as course materials, electronic journals etc. The Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health, comprising Sports Hall, Studios and 'The Pulse' health and fitness suite, is located in the main precinct on Tyndall Avenue. The Student Health Centre is located at the top of St Michael's Hill, in a new building with excellent service.

Accommodation for students is primarily in the central sector of the University and two areas of Bristol: Clifton and Stoke Bishop

University of Bristol Faculty both past and present consists of scholars and researchers. Current academics include 21 Fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences, 13 Fellows of the British Academy, 13 Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering and 40 Fellows of the Royal Society.

The University of Bristol Students Union (UBU) located on Queen's Road is a founding member of the National Students Union and among the oldest unions in the United Kingdom. The union overseas the functioning of the students newspaper  Epigram and BURST (Bristol University Radio Station). This union is also responsible for the organisation of the annual freshers' fair, the co-ordination of Bristol Student Community Action, which organises volunteering projects in the local community, and the organisation of entertainment events and very large number of student societies. There is a seperate wing for postgraduate students as well as the athletics union.

Just Ask –  This Students' Union Advice and Representation Centre is run by a team of professional student advisers alongside the student sabbatical officers for education and welfare. The University has an active Athletic Union and is recognised for its sporting achievements through high-performing teams, excellent facilities and a large range of clubs.
