Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Kalaikunda was established in the year 1967 primarily to cater to the need of education for the children of defence persons. At present 1800 students are studying from classes I to XII. The scheme of pre-primary education has been taken up from the session 2002-2003.
 
It aims to cater to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
 


Admissions:
The Admission is done on the basis of interview.

The Vidyalaya has its own well-designed beautiful and nicely maintained double storey building and well established Games & Sports complex and Children Park and fully equipped modernized Science and Computer Laboratories.
